Amongst many of our other specialist treatments, The Harley Laser Clinic also offers Juvéderm dermal fillers. Dermal fillers have been used for a long time to prevent the signs of aging, to preserve a youthful appearance and to treat any minor imperfections which may present themselves on the surface of the skin. Dermal fillers are completely safe and provide immediate results without any resting time required at all, allowing you to continue your daily activities as if it is just a normal day.
Juvéderm is a dermal filler, which is constructed out of an entirely natural substance which gets produced by your body. The texture is a smooth gel which will instantly restore your skin’s natural volume and eases away facial wrinkles which are also known as nasolabial folds; these are also often referred to as smile lines, which are folds of skin which reach from the corners of your mouth to the sides of the nose.
Compared to most other formulations, Juvéderm contains a higher concentration of Hyaluronic acid. This can result in the effects of the process lasting for a prolonged period. The Juvéderm molecules are much smaller compared to those of Restylane, as such they absorb a reduced amount of water, meaning there is significantly less swelling on the areas which are treated. Juvéderm is much more gentle compared to Restylane too, as a direct result of this, it causes much less tenderness and also a reduced amount of irritability. This is especially true for when Juvéderm is used to make the lips appear fuller, achieving a more comfortable and instantaneous plumpness, without the swelling that Restylane has been criticised for leaving behind. Juvéderm has a bespoke formulation within itself which includes a local anesthetic which will reduce the painful sensations that can sometimes be felt afterwards.
A specific formula which contains a type of Hyaluronic acid.
It is a natural occurring substance that comes from within our bodies. Normally it gets used in the body to both to add volume and to hydrate the skin.
Because Hyaluronic acid is generated naturally in the body, yes– absolutely. The process that we undertake when we inject this into the skin as a dermal filler only adds to the skin, the same way a supplement does, to assist with hydration and generate a different appearance, it also serves as an anti-aging process too.
Ageing is a natural and very normal process that happens to us all, some quicker than others, but it is expected that over the years, your body will start to show signs of aging. What also occurs with aging is the amount of Hyaluronic acid within the boy will slowly start to be reduced, it is this which is the primary cause of wrinkles on the face and reduce the fullness in the lips. If you feel that you are starting to notice your smile lines getting deeper, generally you are suited to this treatment. This can be used as a way of preventing the development of the signs of aging which can appear in the form of fine lines on your face and wrinkles. There are some people who receive this treatment to enrich the natural beauty of features on the face, such as lip contouring, or what is also known as the cupids arch.
Not very long at all, the length of the treatment is around 15-20 minutes in total. You should expect to have a consultation beforehand. However, this will do at a different time to your appointment.
We will apply a local anesthetic to the area that is being treated, this is only to numb the skin to allow for you not to feel the sensation from the Juvederm needle, this means there is little to no discomfort at all. With the Juvederm product, there is a specific formula which also contains a light anesthetic, much different to other dermal fillers, which also helps to ease any discomfort during the short process.
The is no specific time advised for resting after treatment. If you experience some slight swelling, this generally tends to subside after a day. Some people have experienced a small amount of bruising, but this tends to be minimal. We always apply arnica cream immediately afterwards to reduce any signs or effects of bruising.
On the facial area, it is common for the results to last between 9-12 months.
The consultant will provide you with some anti-bruising cream, so you have it to hand should there be a cause to use it. This to help with any slight swelling or bruising which may occur during or just after the treatment.
